Economy and the Next President

Well like I have said many times I do not understand the economy all that much. But I do understand that I do not being taxed for stupid things but that is another topic entirely. But for those of you just reading this because you just like surfing the web and just so happened to stumble on this blog I apologize. For those of you who are in my sociology class I hope that you get this stuff better than I do. But the economy has become a major part to this election this year, one of the biggest. Probably one of the biggest since the last time… when Reagan ran for president. Or even going way back to when Franklin Delano Roosevelt had run for president. But a big part of it is that the people need to boost this slowing economy. Too many things are failing. But I can tell you one thing is that people are tired of being overly taxed. I know my dad receives almost half of his paychecks and his bonus checks. Soon enough the American people will be getting less and less to pay into useless things that don’t help the economy. The people are scared to buy as is, more taxes will only hurt worse. They already have to worry buying gas and paying taxes if the president wants to establish some sort of faith in buying again he needs to cut a lot of taxes that are useless like inheritance taxes or prize taxes.

His Ball Is Tan :)

This is what happens when the US government leaves an area unstable. When it leaves and doesn’t look back when they say “you are free now make your own way”. This is where the nation runs into problems, Lebanon was engaged in a civil war the US decided to jump into the middle of it and then the people had won and the government had risen but eventually the people began to lose their thoughts in government and the terrorists or rebels or whatever you want to call them had fought out against them without any significant help and the battle ended with the terrorists or rebels gaining control of West Beirut. The one problem that I run into with this is that the US trains these people and then refuses to fight them when they engage in terrorist activities. its backwards thinking. The military needs to train them with the full knowledge that they could one day be fighting against them. These people engaged in terrorist activities just because one is trained to kill and take house doesn’t mean that they should use it whenever they so choose it should be a final option. But the military should have fought against these people. Like I said this is what happens when you leave a place unstable, the people or something will snap and eventually lead to bigger and more problems. We still have troops in Germany why would we not have troops in Lebanon after the civil war was over.

BURMA

The Chinese have experienced a natural disaster that has shaken the world over. This tornado has claimed 15,000 lives already and before the rubble is cleared I believe there will be many more lives lost, and many more mourning families. Just like the grandfather at the beginning of the article many families will soon realize that their young son or daughter will never return home again. Like many Asian cultures they believe in the superstition that this happened because they are being punished for some wrongs in their past. How much of that is true … I cannot honestly say but I do know this, these people are suffering greatly and despite the way that their government is, in terms of the oppression that some groups of people are going through, they need to react to save those who are savable before the death toll climbs. They do not, I’m sure, want a repeat if 1976 when they lost 240,000 people. Now is the time for this government to shine and show that these people can stand up to unfortunate events. But if they are by some chance being punished for something… is it coincidence that these bad things happen when the government is in too much control and does not democratically allow the people to rule themselves?

Discrimination Nation

This nation fights for equality on every issue of jobs and schools anything that they feel that they can fight about. The problems is, is that eventually the interview process is not going to matter. All people will have to do is send in the application and if the like what they are reading you get the job. Now there are some instances when it should not be legal to test the genealogy of one person versus the other but, like the author said, insurance should have that right. They cannot afford to just be blindly throwing money towards people without knowing the risk that they are going to take. It is bad for the economy. But as far as jobs go it depends the field of work that the person is going into. Attendance is key and if a person is more likely to be sick more often why should the business not have to know about it, again they would be throwing money at someone who might not be at work half the time. But if they are on a salary and granted those days off, they still get paid for doing nothing. But if it is a low income job that requires you to only come in when you are on the schedule than that should not be a factor in your hiring because you can always find someone to take your shifts.

Israel's Birthday

Happy Birthday to Israel! Unfortunately not tall the world feels the same. It has been sixty years since the UN has granted the nation into the world as a nation. But should we really be surprised when the rest of the world persecutes the nation of Israel? Answer: No. the Bible warns people about the creation of Israel as a nation again. And the Bible also talks about how its people (the Jewish people) will always be hated because of Jesus Christ. A lot of historical facts go into the fact that this place is hated by almost every surrounding Middle Eastern nation. But not only that sides need to be taken. The lines have been drawn and the US needs to choose wisely. But all that religious stuff aside, I think that in sixty short years the nation has resurrected a nearly dead language and fluently speaks it. Granted Hebrew is only meant for the educated and the higher up classes its still an amazing feat to bring back a language that has been dead for many years. and despite all of the anti-Semitism the nation still is a majority of a Jewish one. Once the nation establishes its dominance, the other nations will realize that the have shaken the wrong cage. Some of them already have they are just too strong willed to stop the fighting.

Food Issues

Well there is this food crisis. And I’m not surprised just in light of the fact that it seems like all the media wants to do is force people to live in fear of the "what might happen" kind of idea. Now I don’t understand what they are going to do for bio fuels now that corn can no longer be used to produce these alternate fuel sources. It just seems like one panic leads to another in this country. First Global Warming, (climate change when its cold outside) Now this food crisis. All that means is plant more foods. Its not our job to feed China so the way I see it we need to just to worry about our own hides when it comes to our food. Now if people in china needed our military that would be a little different story. Sometimes people cannot fight for themselves but they sure can farm for themselves. Americans have taken to much of the physical labor for the poor. Just give them the seeds and let them decide how badly they want the food. That’s how America has to do it. Why should we do all the work while they just sit there and reap all the benefits. Cough …cough… welfare.

Burma

Well Burma has had a long, long turn for the worst when it comes to their luck. Their freedoms are stripped from them as human beings from the leaders of the military that have taken over the region and are running it currently. So is it any surprise that the people called for these hearings against the military leadership in Burma once the disasters had struck. The answer is no! of course not it is tradition in Burma or any Asian culture for that matter they are very superstitious like many cultures were way back when they believed that the series of misfortunes that they were undergoing was a response from the gods, or god depending on the culture and what they believed. But at the same time the people could be using this as an excuse to remove some suppressive leadership. Couldn’t that be a possibility? But to be one hundred percent honest every time I hear anything about Burma I always think of Rambo IV. Its takes place in Burma and shows what the people are actually going through. And yes it is very unfortunate that the natural disaster hit the area but sometimes those things happen.

Lance Armstrong

I chose Lance Armstrong as the most influential person that time could muster up. Not only is he working hard to help aid those in need who have been affected by cancer but he is also a motivating story in and of himself. He had cancer three times lost one of his very precious jewels and still kept fighting back. Not only did he beat cancer he beat out the competition in a number of bike races: Most noticably the Tour De France, which is said to be the most grueling race on the planet. Through his amazing recovery and his inspiring story Lance Armstrong has greatly inspired many (not just those with cancer) to overcome the obstacles that they feel they just cant get past. And his help in cancer research and giving back to those who have given back so much is yet again inspiring. I cannot think of a better word than that. The mans remarkable story and self sacrifice has helped to push people beyond what most would consider a motivating fact to live and now a motivating factor to live and succeed. If I had one word to describe Lance Armstrong it would be just that: Inspiring.

Thrift Savings PLan (TSP)

Well I don’t know much about economics but I do know that this 401-k sounds like a good idea. This will open up opportunities for anyone to combat terrorism in the world without having to carry a gun. Granted that guns will still be needed to physically fight those people this allows people to cut off business that is doing business with terrorist organizations. In hopes that the removal of funding for these people will smother them and force them to give up their arms. Unfortunatley winning this war will have to come from two fronts one of which being that they will have to choke them out financially, but they will find other ways to get their guns and other supplies. And the other will have to be through physically fighting the War on Terror. We have to scare them. While they are losing money and guns they will still be fighting against the US of A and that wont mix together very well. They will still be losing men and decreasing in numbers while having little to no money to pay for more men or more supplies, thus they will be forced to lay down their arms so the people of the nation that is run by terrorists will soon enough be run by the citizens. And everybody wins.

Diamonds are Forever

These people are insane they don’t care who lives or who dies they’re whole existence is centered around making money. But through the suffering of others do they make their money. Not only is it cheap labor they also incite war in the regions that they decide to mine. Except in Botswana where the mining company led all its 1.9 million people out of poverty. Through the mine the nations leaders have been able to return some of the profits to the people of that nation. In building roads and other developments. De Beers ( a mining company.) has worked hand in hand with the nation of Botswana in a 50-50 partnership. That way everybody wins. But this is just one example of an honest mining company. What about the other nations of Africa that rape the soil for all that it is worth and then move on leaving a confused people to fight over their differences. Once the mining company leaves the more forceful group will force others to work the mines because they think that is their only source of income. Because it is all they have known. There needs to be more honest companies out their that are willing to give back to their workers.

Ready or Not

Though the Iraqi troops are getting better tactically and are increasing in numbers…some think that they are ready while leading military officials do not. They like to sleep in lot miss formations. They are basically lethal machines with no discipline. They know how to conduct themselves and have been very successful thus far but are not nearly ready to fight, defend, and protect their own country yet. Some say that it will take a couple of years. So some people think that the US pulling out of Iraq so soon will cause more problems than it will fix. If that happens we will be looking at another massacre as ended Vietnam when the US forces left. That would look bad on the US and in turn we would catch more ridicule from the same people who are calling for this retreat from the nation. Until the nation can rightfully and effectively defend their country from the threat of evil being harbored in the nation. Once they begin to get up on time learn how to do jumping jacks and anything of that nature maybe … maybe they will be ready to go off by themselves and fight for themselves but as of now its too soon to send them off to the wolves.

Show Us Our Money

First off it’s ridiculous that the old lady was getting the shaft for the same amount of work and kind of work. And for any other woman for that matter if they have the same education, same amount of hours, same job experiences, same training and anything of the like they should be getting paid the same wage as a man. I don’t know why jobs pay women less but I think that it is ridiculous. Now on a side note the company taking the case all the way to the Supreme Court is a little excessive. They should have just admitted that they were wrong and paid her, the dues that they gypped her out of and moved on from there. They found that all of these actions went against the civil rights act and in turn cost them more money. If they would have followed the law to begin with than this whole situation could have been avoided. However waiting until she was 70 was kind of pointless she is approaching the end of her years its not like she’ll go skydiving with her court winnings. But oh well I guess a point needed to be made . and for the sake of all good left in this world why cant women earn equal pay?
