WHAT!?!?!?!?!
Tonight is potentially one of the scariest moments i have witnessed in this country since 9/11. A man is going to take power over this country in Jan. that is going to play robin hood. he is going to tax us to hell and back, just as the democratic government has done since they have taken power. and now that it looks as if he will have 60% in both houses, who is to stop him from running us into the ground. Fanney mae was run under by his new economic advisor. was it really smart to elect this man?

Economy and the Next President
Well like I have said many times I do not understand the economy all that much. But I do understand that I do not being taxed for stupid things but that is another topic entirely. But for those of you just reading this because you just like surfing the web and just so happened to stumble on this blog I apologize. For those of you who are in my sociology class I hope that you get this stuff better than I do. But the economy has become a major part to this election this year, one of the biggest. Probably one of the biggest since the last time… when Reagan ran for president. Or even going way back to when Franklin Delano Roosevelt had run for president. But a big part of it is that the people need to boost this slowing economy. Too many things are failing. But I can tell you one thing is that people are tired of being overly taxed. I know my dad receives almost half of his paychecks and his bonus checks. Soon enough the American people will be getting less and less to pay into useless things that don’t help the economy. The people are scared to buy as is, more taxes will only hurt worse. They already have to worry buying gas and paying taxes if the president wants to establish some sort of faith in buying again he needs to cut a lot of taxes that are useless like inheritance taxes or prize taxes.
His Ball Is Tan :)
This is what happens when the US government leaves an area unstable. When it leaves and doesn’t look back when they say “you are free now make your own way”. This is where the nation runs into problems, Lebanon was engaged in a civil war the US decided to jump into the middle of it and then the people had won and the government had risen but eventually the people began to lose their thoughts in government and the terrorists or rebels or whatever you want to call them had fought out against them without any significant help and the battle ended with the terrorists or rebels gaining control of West Beirut. The one problem that I run into with this is that the US trains these people and then refuses to fight them when they engage in terrorist activities. its backwards thinking. The military needs to train them with the full knowledge that they could one day be fighting against them. These people engaged in terrorist activities just because one is trained to kill and take house doesn’t mean that they should use it whenever they so choose it should be a final option. But the military should have fought against these people. Like I said this is what happens when you leave a place unstable, the people or something will snap and eventually lead to bigger and more problems. We still have troops in Germany why would we not have troops in Lebanon after the civil war was over.
BURMA
The Chinese have experienced a natural disaster that has shaken the world over. This tornado has claimed 15,000 lives already and before the rubble is cleared I believe there will be many more lives lost, and many more mourning families. Just like the grandfather at the beginning of the article many families will soon realize that their young son or daughter will never return home again. Like many Asian cultures they believe in the superstition that this happened because they are being punished for some wrongs in their past. How much of that is true … I cannot honestly say but I do know this, these people are suffering greatly and despite the way that their government is, in terms of the oppression that some groups of people are going through, they need to react to save those who are savable before the death toll climbs. They do not, I’m sure, want a repeat if 1976 when they lost 240,000 people. Now is the time for this government to shine and show that these people can stand up to unfortunate events. But if they are by some chance being punished for something… is it coincidence that these bad things happen when the government is in too much control and does not democratically allow the people to rule themselves?

Discrimination Nation
This nation fights for equality on every issue of jobs and schools anything that they feel that they can fight about. The problems is, is that eventually the interview process is not going to matter. All people will have to do is send in the application and if the like what they are reading you get the job. Now there are some instances when it should not be legal to test the genealogy of one person versus the other but, like the author said, insurance should have that right. They cannot afford to just be blindly throwing money towards people without knowing the risk that they are going to take. It is bad for the economy. But as far as jobs go it depends the field of work that the person is going into. Attendance is key and if a person is more likely to be sick more often why should the business not have to know about it, again they would be throwing money at someone who might not be at work half the time. But if they are on a salary and granted those days off, they still get paid for doing nothing. But if it is a low income job that requires you to only come in when you are on the schedule than that should not be a factor in your hiring because you can always find someone to take your shifts.
Israel's Birthday
Happy Birthday to Israel! Unfortunately not tall the world feels the same. It has been sixty years since the UN has granted the nation into the world as a nation. But should we really be surprised when the rest of the world persecutes the nation of Israel? Answer: No. the Bible warns people about the creation of Israel as a nation again. And the Bible also talks about how its people (the Jewish people) will always be hated because of Jesus Christ. A lot of historical facts go into the fact that this place is hated by almost every surrounding Middle Eastern nation. But not only that sides need to be taken. The lines have been drawn and the US needs to choose wisely. But all that religious stuff aside, I think that in sixty short years the nation has resurrected a nearly dead language and fluently speaks it. Granted Hebrew is only meant for the educated and the higher up classes its still an amazing feat to bring back a language that has been dead for many years. and despite all of the anti-Semitism the nation still is a majority of a Jewish one. Once the nation establishes its dominance, the other nations will realize that the have shaken the wrong cage. Some of them already have they are just too strong willed to stop the fighting.

Food Issues
Well there is this food crisis. And I’m not surprised just in light of the fact that it seems like all the media wants to do is force people to live in fear of the "what might happen" kind of idea. Now I don’t understand what they are going to do for bio fuels now that corn can no longer be used to produce these alternate fuel sources. It just seems like one panic leads to another in this country. First Global Warming, (climate change when its cold outside) Now this food crisis. All that means is plant more foods. Its not our job to feed China so the way I see it we need to just to worry about our own hides when it comes to our food. Now if people in china needed our military that would be a little different story. Sometimes people cannot fight for themselves but they sure can farm for themselves. Americans have taken to much of the physical labor for the poor. Just give them the seeds and let them decide how badly they want the food. That’s how America has to do it. Why should we do all the work while they just sit there and reap all the benefits. Cough …cough… welfare.
Burma
Well Burma has had a long, long turn for the worst when it comes to their luck. Their freedoms are stripped from them as human beings from the leaders of the military that have taken over the region and are running it currently. So is it any surprise that the people called for these hearings against the military leadership in Burma once the disasters had struck. The answer is no! of course not it is tradition in Burma or any Asian culture for that matter they are very superstitious like many cultures were way back when they believed that the series of misfortunes that they were undergoing was a response from the gods, or god depending on the culture and what they believed. But at the same time the people could be using this as an excuse to remove some suppressive leadership. Couldn’t that be a possibility? But to be one hundred percent honest every time I hear anything about Burma I always think of Rambo IV. Its takes place in Burma and shows what the people are actually going through. And yes it is very unfortunate that the natural disaster hit the area but sometimes those things happen.

Lance Armstrong
I chose Lance Armstrong as the most influential person that time could muster up. Not only is he working hard to help aid those in need who have been affected by cancer but he is also a motivating story in and of himself. He had cancer three times lost one of his very precious jewels and still kept fighting back. Not only did he beat cancer he beat out the competition in a number of bike races: Most noticably the Tour De France, which is said to be the most grueling race on the planet. Through his amazing recovery and his inspiring story Lance Armstrong has greatly inspired many (not just those with cancer) to overcome the obstacles that they feel they just cant get past. And his help in cancer research and giving back to those who have given back so much is yet again inspiring. I cannot think of a better word than that. The mans remarkable story and self sacrifice has helped to push people beyond what most would consider a motivating fact to live and now a motivating factor to live and succeed. If I had one word to describe Lance Armstrong it would be just that: Inspiring.

Thrift Savings PLan (TSP)
Well I don’t know much about economics but I do know that this 401-k sounds like a good idea. This will open up opportunities for anyone to combat terrorism in the world without having to carry a gun. Granted that guns will still be needed to physically fight those people this allows people to cut off business that is doing business with terrorist organizations. In hopes that the removal of funding for these people will smother them and force them to give up their arms. Unfortunatley winning this war will have to come from two fronts one of which being that they will have to choke them out financially, but they will find other ways to get their guns and other supplies. And the other will have to be through physically fighting the War on Terror. We have to scare them. While they are losing money and guns they will still be fighting against the US of A and that wont mix together very well. They will still be losing men and decreasing in numbers while having little to no money to pay for more men or more supplies, thus they will be forced to lay down their arms so the people of the nation that is run by terrorists will soon enough be run by the citizens. And everybody wins.
Diamonds are Forever
These people are insane they don’t care who lives or who dies they’re whole existence is centered around making money. But through the suffering of others do they make their money. Not only is it cheap labor they also incite war in the regions that they decide to mine. Except in Botswana where the mining company led all its 1.9 million people out of poverty. Through the mine the nations leaders have been able to return some of the profits to the people of that nation. In building roads and other developments. De Beers ( a mining company.) has worked hand in hand with the nation of Botswana in a 50-50 partnership. That way everybody wins. But this is just one example of an honest mining company. What about the other nations of Africa that rape the soil for all that it is worth and then move on leaving a confused people to fight over their differences. Once the mining company leaves the more forceful group will force others to work the mines because they think that is their only source of income. Because it is all they have known. There needs to be more honest companies out their that are willing to give back to their workers.

Ready or Not
Though the Iraqi troops are getting better tactically and are increasing in numbers…some think that they are ready while leading military officials do not. They like to sleep in lot miss formations. They are basically lethal machines with no discipline. They know how to conduct themselves and have been very successful thus far but are not nearly ready to fight, defend, and protect their own country yet. Some say that it will take a couple of years. So some people think that the US pulling out of Iraq so soon will cause more problems than it will fix. If that happens we will be looking at another massacre as ended Vietnam when the US forces left. That would look bad on the US and in turn we would catch more ridicule from the same people who are calling for this retreat from the nation. Until the nation can rightfully and effectively defend their country from the threat of evil being harbored in the nation. Once they begin to get up on time learn how to do jumping jacks and anything of that nature maybe … maybe they will be ready to go off by themselves and fight for themselves but as of now its too soon to send them off to the wolves.
Show Us Our Money
First off it’s ridiculous that the old lady was getting the shaft for the same amount of work and kind of work. And for any other woman for that matter if they have the same education, same amount of hours, same job experiences, same training and anything of the like they should be getting paid the same wage as a man. I don’t know why jobs pay women less but I think that it is ridiculous. Now on a side note the company taking the case all the way to the Supreme Court is a little excessive. They should have just admitted that they were wrong and paid her, the dues that they gypped her out of and moved on from there. They found that all of these actions went against the civil rights act and in turn cost them more money. If they would have followed the law to begin with than this whole situation could have been avoided. However waiting until she was 70 was kind of pointless she is approaching the end of her years its not like she’ll go skydiving with her court winnings. But oh well I guess a point needed to be made . and for the sake of all good left in this world why cant women earn equal pay?

Bejing Again
Well it’s the name of the game as a reporter some people love you and some people hate you in this mans instance the people hate him. All for supporting the underdog. It is freaking ridiculous that these people hate one religion so much that they are willing to almost stop the spread of it. This is all a little bit out of whack. But my biggest problem with the Beijing conflict is that people are willing to boycott the games and make the athletes—who have more than likely trained their entire lives – miss out on the one event that they have worked to hard to get to go to. But the protests in the country are being dealt with militarily… because the government feels that they are ignoring political education… in other words brainwashing. The people who are fighting the system are the ones who are paying the most. It all sounds parallel to the propaganda that Hitler used during WWII. Just as he banned books and spoke of the humiliation of Germany so is the Chinese Government. In rewriting the Chinese books. If this is really happening then this needs to be priority one in the UN and NATO and any of the likes.
Money Problems
Ok so Bush is bad with the economy we all get it why on earth would we be paying 3.50 per gallon of gas. I hate to think about it. I’m tired of hearing about it though. It gets kind of old. But at the same time Bush needs to re-evaluate his economic choices… oh wait he’ll be out of the office in January. So it doesn’t matter. People need to quit making a big deal about his financial issues and start focusing on this coming election and who they think could best help this country as a whole and start evaluating them more closely. Bush has already made his mistakes. Quit focusing on them and start looking –optimistically—towards the future. It is about time that this country looks into the country future in a positive light. People create these self-fulfilling prophecies and it is the pessimistic view that keeps this country feeling so negative. People who sit and point the finger at Bush and creating him to be worse than he really is. He is bad with money and few other things but over all he has been a good leader for this country. Let’s hope the next president can fill his shoes and be better with the fiscal matters.
Colorblind Loyalty
First off I don’t care if you are black, white, purple, or orange. I am a colorblind individual with regards to race in this country and throughout the world. I have friends of all origins and skin colors. I teach swim lessons to children of all race and color. But what I cannot stand is when the media such as this article and political figures such as Barrack Obama, try to state that it is the black community and that it is the black society. All I have to say is … who is acting racist now? Why can they have United Negro College Fund but if we try United Caucasian College fund we are racist. But this isn’t about race though it is a frustration in society. People are self-made individuals no matter the skin color. Why cant the government act the same way and treat white Americans as they treat black Americans it is time that the government stop apologizing for past transgressions and move on in this world. But I agree that you do not have to white to be patriotic and loyal to this country. Because the ones who are extremely patriotic have moved past acts of evil on their ancestors and family members… maybe the rest of the country should fall in line accordingly.
Trouble in Texas
Let me start off by saying that I am glad that this place has finally gone under. What they were doing was illegal and needed to be dealt with. Now I say that, but it is unfortunate that all of the children have been taken away from their mothers and fathers. But the argument of whether or not this guy is a good father has nothing to do with it. That argument doesn’t hold water. That "good" father was participating in illegal activities. Polygamy is a crime, now all the hype about whether or not we should have gone in needs to stop. Because they already went in! So they need to clean it up and get out. Compile the evidence and leave the area. Whether or not the informant was giving false information is obsolete; we have a rule in life guarding, and that is if you don’t know go. Which is exactly what these people did they received info and went in after it. And low and behold it happens to be in a polygamy compound. GAME OVER! They are cuaght in the middle of a legal issue and now their way of life will be changed forever. And its about time these people conform to society and obey the law like everyone else.

Cap and Trade
SO now the Environment is a big debate that is happening in this years Presidential election. The question is, who is the right person to take the job? The theory of cap and trade is one that would u the nation on a carbon diet. Which the article says is very expensive. And all that means is that the American people will have to pay a higher tax just to solve a problem that is very debatable as to if it even exists. But not only do the companies make more money in not producing as much carbon they get to give that money to other companies to invest in technology to lessen their carbon emissions. Which is not even the root of the problem. However, last I checked this nation was a democracy, and in a democracy we are a mixed economy leaning more towards capitalism. And in such the nations economy depends on competition. Strong companies need to compete. How can the companies compete if they help each other out? I smell a socialist movement. If we find "cleaner" sources im ok with that. But I want cleaner sources that are cheaper than gas. Cause if I have to buy a new car to put fuel in that is "Clean" but cost the same… I’ll be one angry individual. Especially because ill be paying the same price for something different just because its "clean"
Global Peace Through the Environment?????
Let me start off by saying that this guy may be high up in the political world but he is wrong with the Global warming being the root of all evil. First off there is no proof that Global Warming even exists. Its not a fact it is a consensus. And consensus is nothing at all. I could say that pigs fly and if enough people agree with me I have a new consensus. And its only addressed as global warming during the summer. During the winter global warming is missing and climate change is the new issue. Cause we have snow all of the sudden. Well the Earth cannot be warming if its snowing now can it Al? That aside Darfur was not brought out by people killing people cause it was hot outside for ten years. at no time did John Q say I’m going to kill my neighbor because its too hot. They do it because they are pure evil and cannot be dismissed as anything else. And giving them rain or better farm land will not stop the killing. When you target women and children the thought of environmental problems cause war can defenestrate its self. I’m all for getting peace. But it will never happen and solving the problem of a non existing global warming will do nothing.
PS. There is talk of a Global Tax… do you really want to give up more of your hard earned money to feed this consensus? I know I don’t.
PS. There is talk of a Global Tax… do you really want to give up more of your hard earned money to feed this consensus? I know I don’t.
Bejing
The Oroqen tribe is slowly being assimilated into Chinese society. They better watch out because in an attempt to assimilate they are losing a culture forever. And people will complain for years to come. Just as they do in the US. In my opinion we did nothing wrong and I wouldn’t take it back. But what we failed to do was recognize them for who they are. And failed to let them keep their culture and if China follows down this path.. And I say let them make up their own mind. Its not the governments job to decide how people should conduct their daily lives. That is very vague so let me clarify. Laws need to exist to keep the peace but for a group of people who have their own ways of living let them do that, As long as it doesn’t violate the national law. They need not attempt to force people to change who they are so that it fits the norm. if they are being forced to do something they will act out. Just as they are doing in the mountains by poaching. Hunting is their way of life and taking that away is like taking away their oxygen.
Democrats and the White House
Obama made some bad comments about the working white class Americans. But as the media does it, it buys him an excuse. This article did a good job of keeping that out in the beginning but towards the end it started to vouch for his every word. But what I did like about the article is that it expressed both sides of the statements that Obama had made last week. When the older gentlemen who had also been a war vet expressed how he had been affected by the words that Obama had stated. And it is true now the working class Americans are not being fought for as much, as they were in the older days. But in a sense shouldn’t it be that way because less people are in the secondary sector. And more people are now going to the tertiary sector and are becoming better educated. But at the same time that doesn’t give Obama the right to go off and shoot his mouth like that. This man keeps tying himself up in his own knots. First with Rev. white and then weather underground and his wifes comments about never being proud of her country. The only change he needs to focus on is the change in his speeches. That is not how you win delegates.

Olympic boycotts
I have a huge problem with the nations of the world boycotting the Olympic games. But at the same time I have a huge problem with the Chinese doing what they are doing with Tibet. But as far as the Olympics goes it is not going to do anything to the nation as a whole if other nations do not show up to compete. The only people that suffer and pay the price are the athletes. For many of them they have worked their entire lives to get to that point and now that it is so close it could be ripped away from them. And at the same time for many of these athletes they are only going to get one shot at this dream of theirs. And diplomatically this is not going to solve any of the problems that the Tibetans are having. A slap on the wrist with a "we’re not coming" sign will serve no purpose in getting the point across. This is going to have to be solved through government meetings or some kind of UN sanctions. Just don’t punish the athletes they have nothing to do with this. Lets separate sports form politics and let fair competition proceed as planned.
Monkey Business
The monkey story cracked me up. I thought it was just funny for a story like that to be one of the main stories in Time this week. Time must have had a bad week for stories. But the monkeys were a funny story to tell. They were peaceful monkeys and they had crazy sex all the time. They though that sex solved everything. It sounds like some of the people in the world today. But I have always wanted a monkey as a pet but that article made monkeys (except for that kind) to be vicious. I don’t want a vicious monkey; I don’t want the battle of the bulge with some primate whenever I come home from school or work. But I do like the fact that they are trying to get funding to save this monkey species. And the speaker’s voice at the church seemed to be very powerful. But all in all with everything going on in the world today you would think that time would choose a different topic to write about instead of monkeys. But if that is what time wishes to write about have at it, because it did make for an interesting read.
Taking on the Big Man
Morgan Tsvangirai has been the leader of the opposition party in Zimbabwe for many years. This year it looks to be like he, for the first time, will have his chance in a free and fair election of the people of Zimbabwe. The old leader, Robert Mugabe, who is now 84 years old, has done everything in his power in the past to keep this man from stealing his power. Form arresting him attacking him and threatening him. But Tsvangirai has come back for more every time the nation goes into elections. To me Mugabe trying to keep him from the elections shows me that he was scared that the people would support an honest leader versus and phony one. Thus Mugabe is now calling for recounts on the votes that were taken in last month. This scares the people into thinking that there is some sort of foul play involved yet again. Zimbabwe has inflation rates of 100,000% and is 80% unemployed. This potential new leader vows to solve those problems. Hopefully some good can come out of this. For the good of the nation of Zimbabwe I pray that the leadership would change to someone who will help his people rather than just sit idly by and watch the nation plummet.
Patraeus
General Patraeus has been recently receiving questions form the senate in review of the progress in Iraq and in the War on Terror. Obama, though he is a presidential candidate, is one of the front runners in the questioning of the General. The article overall was ok but my biggest problems in reading this article is the questions that they presented him with and in the matter in which they did it. Some of the comments that were made had also angered me a little bit. The questions were very iffy and the comments were very broad. Like Obama said that Iraq is still a messy situation, yet, I would like to know if he has gone and witnessed this on a first hand experience. Plus it now seems that, when the US is pushing for a “normal relationship” between Iraq and Iran that the liberal left and the anti- war protestors are questioning as to why. It all seems like backwards logic to me. If you denounce the war but don’t want to push for peace then where do you stand? Its time for politicians to be real and quit playing the political game. Quit sucking your finger and sticking it into the political winds and start sticking to what you say.

Zimbabwe
Change is most definitely in the air in Zimbabwe. New elections are coming up and it appears to be that the military led government will be losing the elections coming up. The people are expressing their voice without fear and in turn will be rewarded for it. In the past the nations leader had released security officials to stop the opposition parties running against him. Sounds like in Russia with Putin. I think that it is great that the people have finally chosen to end the oppression of their government. It is time for the people to stand p and realize that they deserve a fighting chance. People say that nations like these are forgotten by God, well this goes to show you that, that statement is false, good things do happen o good people. I feel that if a nation is not being fair to the people it is the peoples right—partially cause I am American—to end the unfair treatment and restore equality to all people of the nation. If the world could take example of this and just standup for what is right rather than sit idly by while their homes are ripped apart or the military of an oppressing force kills your family because they are of a different tribe. Hopefully this story will circulate and the people of the world living in similar situations will act in a similar fashion.
Nudge
Nudge is a book that has recently come out that explains how to help push ideas along without eliminating any options. Like how the article talked about the energy thing if one neighbor uses less energy than the other does and they compare prices the neighbor using up the most energy would voluntarily stop using as much energy. And the lunch example is my favorite. Put the healthy choices first and the less healthy ones last and see which ones the kids will fill themselves up on. The study shows that the kids chose the healthy option every time. I wish they would do that at our school. IM tired of three-day-old lunches and IM tired of salads that have not nutrients and are all basically soggy leaves. I heard this summer that we were supposed to get a salad bar but instead we got a French fry bar. That’s defiantly contributes to the obesity in youth. I’m trying to lose weight and get in shape and I pack my lunch but before I did I lived off of fried foods and honestly a salad bar not only would taste better but would make people feel better. But of course we are Franklin and cannot get things with nutrients and when we do we fry the life out of it.
POPE
The pope is on a tour in the United State, and despite popular belief he is not universally hated for cutting American ties a while back he actually loves America and everything about it. He was a Nazi youth in Germany and witnessed his first experience with the Americans after the Second World War when the United States were rebuilding Germany. He said that when the United States rebuilt when they could have destroyed he witnessed the compassion that he greatly admired. He said that they could have easily taken out revenge on the nation but instead they helped put it back up. He says the United States is the world’s example for how things need to get done. I couldn’t agree more. Some one has to take charge in this world and lead from the front. And despite some of our moral issues this nation is the best suited to do the job. Some things I wish could be changed about this country but on a moral standpoint this country stands true to its values –even if some are wrong. And as a point of good vs evil this nation has made its stand there and it has stood true.
Baghdad
"The people think that America is like Superman, who can do anything," said some one living in Baghdad. This is just proof that the American forces in Baghdad are making some serious progress. Earlier in the War on Terror, a statement like this would have fallen from the mouths of the minority of thinkers, and would have thought that the US intervention in the region was the cause of the problems in Baghdad. But now that the US surge had moved in the major thinking is that the US forces have helped lessen attacks on the people, walls have been built to protect them from attacks, bigger planes can now fly due to less chances of being shot out of the sky and police run the streets insuring the peace of the people. But now that the people hold these men as their friends what happens to the country when they leave? Will the attacks flare up or can the peace be kept? Personally the troops should stay to insure the security of the nation and wait until it can stand on its own as a sovereign nation. For example we still have troops in Germany and Korea and its been 50 years. once there can be a security force that is led by the people of the nation then and only then should the US forces pull out of Baghdad.

Ethynol Energy Problems
the amazon is being torn down for the creaction of soybean fields in order to create other means of energy rather than just gasoline. in an attempt to help the environment all it is doing is hurting apparently. but since "global warming" is so big right now the destruction of the amazon is being over looked. and not only is it hurting the environment but it is tearing down peoples homes for construction of a project that is really a waste of money. tax payers payed 8 billion for the creation of ethonol in the gas stations in iwoa but produced only 7 billion gallons. but the search for cleaner feul has created jobs in the US. more than 50,000 jobs were created to be exact and $2 billion in oincome. and Iowa produced nearly 30% of all ethonol in the US. brazil produced 5 Billion gallons last year and this supplied 45% of transportation feul demands. but it also hurts the country because farm lands are growing while wet lands are shrinking.

MLK Jr.
at 39 Martin Luthor King was shot and killed at the hotel he was staying in that night at. now its forty years later and his legacy has outlived the amount of time he lived himself. but there was a darker side to King that few got to see and at times had his friends worried. and the article chose to say that white americans forget that he rallied people against White America and that the Blacks forget that he suffered from high ammounts of depression and lived in constant worry of his his death. as the Article put it white americans want him clawless while blacks want him flawless. personally he did what he had to do to get the black community to ralley as a white american im tired of people living in the past he may have rallied against my ancestors but not me personally so i dont and never will view him as a threat and at the same time i do not condone what white americans did to black americans caues personally i didnt have anything to do with so its not my giult to live with. King was a great leader and man. he set precidents to the equal rights we have today.
Boycott in Bejing.
Boycotting the Olympics is not a new idea but with all the things going on in China right now many nations including the French (suprise), are thinking of taking such actions to fight the problems with china's sudden crackdown. personally i dont see what boycotting accomplishes when it comes to the olympic games. for all the other teams it just makes it easier to obtain the gold. and like come on nothing says shame on you like a country saying "im not coming" its stupid and makes the nations seem immature the olympics are supposed to be freindly competition for rivaling countries where one can take pirde in how the country performs and now it, like everything else, is turning into politics.
Balancing Bhutan
March 24, Bhutan held its first democratic election. It will take a while, however, for the nation to get used to the concepts of democracy. For example no political party can make camp outside of any temple and when one of the major parties in Bhutan tried they were forced to leave and move to a half built hotel. which is smart cause it helps keep people from influencing the vote on election day. The Idea of democracy Bhutan's fourth King said that he would grant his son his wish of establishing a constitutional monarchy in Bhutan. this will be hard to from a democracy and maintain their traditions and beliefs as a nation.

2008 Primaries
i dont like any of the candidates whole heartedly but i do support McCain on his homeland security policy cause he gets that sitting around singing kumbya wont solve the problems evil poses in the world. and as for Obama if he wins he owes everything to the media cause they depict him as christ like. and he is far from it. he calls for change but never says how he is all talk but he lacks the thing the people need most. leadership. smooth talking only takes one so far. he wants CHANGE well you cant spell change without HANG, which is what the american people will do if he is elected president. they will be hung by the taxes he will impose to pay for his changes.
Potato Panic
rising oil prices have been causing potato prices to rise as well and wheat basically all the foods have been growing in price at a rapid rate. THIS ANGERS ME. I LIKE POTATOES. lol but anyhoo infaltion has risen in Saudi Arabia to 6.5% and oil has risen to $100 per barrell
Troops Shift to Afghanistan
32,000 troops are being redirected and shifted from Iraq to Afghanistan to fight in what some call the "forgotten war" and to hunt the terroists in the region. and some major NATO groups are refusing to send troops in. well that is their problem this isnt their war thats right but the threat of terror could happen anytime in any part of the world. and yes that means it could happen in their country as well. i'm gald that we are readjusting their focus to the region we initaily went to fight because now that saddam is dead its time to establish a government and focus on bin Laden so that Afghanistan can get the same opportunities as well.

Semi-Good
i went opening night to see Semi-Pro, Will Ferrell's newest film, and i have to say though it was funny at times just because of Will Ferrell's gift of making people laugh but the language in the film was not needed the F-Bomb doesnt make a movie funny and is rendered useless unless to place emphasis to an event. they used it too much and kind of upset me to be quite frank. plus the movie was tried to be made more motivational than funny it seemed and wasnt so. i was more motivated by Space Jam but the movie wasnt a complete waste i laughed and though the story was less about Will Ferrell than Monix one of the players i was entertained i give the movie a C+. I would wait till it came to the bargain theatres to see it so you only spend 5 bucks rather than 10
33 Killed in Gaza Strip
in an escalated event on saturday between Isrealis and Palistinians armed forces 33 people lay dead in the streets and nearly half of them civilians. all of this happened just days before Codelleezah Rice was supposed to show up for peace meetings and negotiations.
i personally find that very funny. just before peace negotiations are to be discussed fighting breaks out. peace is not on the minds of these countries as of now and will literally take an act of God to create peace in that area.

Tours may be cut by 3 months
if security in Iraq continues to be well tours for our GI's may be cut from 15 months to 12 months. this will be verified potentially in April.
Personal: i feel that this is a good thing it will kep our soldiers in more of a rotating manner get them in and out for shorter amounts of time. this is good for all it will help the phsyche of the soldiers and their families

My Life
ok so this isnt national news but its been a rough week on my family and everyone around us. yesterday i woke up and my best friends gandfather had passed in the middle of the night, the day dragged on and to end it my dog Dexter is hit by a car and we rushed him to the pet hospital only to find out that he had broken his pelvis in four places and surgery was an option for $4,500 that we didnt have with no for sure answer that he would fully recover. so this moring after a sleepless night and a tearful morning we go to the vet to see our pitiful little puppy so heavily sedated that he couldnt even see us or control his body after a very emotional goodbye we put him down(RIP Dex) =( he was a good dog and an even better friend... on the way home from the hospital on 122 we came across an accident i had to nearly force my mom to pull over as we saw a truck driver pull over. when i ran up on the scene the driver had called 911 but had no idea where he was or what he was doing so i took the phone gave the info and (i am first aid and CPR certified) started doing all that i could. i made my way to the totaled vehicle thinking the worst but thank God all three girls were safe the first girl i came to looked up at me with fear and shock in her eyes "will you please help me" she cried and i did her leg was loged in the door but together me and the driver who got the door open pulled her out. scared to death bleeding from the mouth she was going to be ok the next two came out of the truck one non responsive but still awake had been bleeding from her nose and mouth badly the other girl, the third girl, was bleeding heavily from her eye where she had been cut. form the moment they were out of the ditch i had torn my under shirt to make a gauze like pad to stop their bleeding until the squad arrived. they are all fine now but had it not been for my dogs death today those girls could still be hidden in that ditch i barely saw them. this is not made up its 100% fact this week has been very rough but today God showed me the purpose behind my dogs death. he provided me to a situation where i was deeply needed and forced me to push my own pains aside to help another person or in this case a group of people with theirs. i cant help but think there is no other reason. i will miss my dog but because of him, today with the entire group of people who helped, three girls are home tonight with their families or awake and breathing and will be home tomorrow. Dont dismiss Divine intervention Dont put God in a box if he brings you to it he'll get you through it.

Minn sinks to an all time Temp
in Minnesota the past week the temperature fell below 0 well 40 bleow actually the coldest its ever been recorded in the state. so i just wanna kno how global warming could cause such a thing.... oh thats right its called climate change. give me a break its called another excuse to tax the American people and their concience while China Russia and India (the three largest carbon producing companies in the world) are exempt by Koyoto. its bull crap and i dont buy into it for even a second.
Election
i find myself in a tough spot as a voter in this election. because the only true Republican running the race has dropped out. that would be Governor Romney. it disappointed me too cause i thought he had a good chance t win Ohio. people are telling me that this election is unique. i agree in only one area, we have a blsck man a woman and a war hero running. but thats it no matter who i vote for a conservative view will not be in office at all and no matter who i vote for i get the same candidate a pro-choice, gay marraige advocate who sticks to no moral compass based on the faith that they so profoundly devote themselves too. im tired of the game we need a real candidate as conservatives. now the only chance i have is to vote for McCain cause he'll handle the war the way it needs to be handled but other than that the only chance conservatives have is to take control of at least one house of congress (the great equalizer.). and thats how i hav to approach this election. hope hilary and obama stay out of office and McCain handles the War on Terror the way it needs to be handled. Hannatize the Vote !!!!!!! and stop the hilary and obama express.....
Troop Drawdon
Gen. David Petraeus the leading military officer in Iraq, refuses to comment until the 30,000 troops are sent home in july. However, Bush is backing his desicion 100% and taking his reccomendations. but he also said if he wanted to keep the troops there he would be fine with that too.
Personal:
i agree that some troops need to start coming home however the US needs to shift focus and (While keeping a close eye on Iran) shift a majority of the troops to Afghanistan and search for the man responsible for 911 Osama bin Laden. and i feel that this will become a reality in the near future

Blackwater USA
Founded by a former Navy SEAL this company is privately contracted and above the law in many senses in The War on Terror. i personally like this organization. not that our troops are not doing a good job but these gentilemen dont have to worry about the politics in what they are doing. while and American soldier has to wait for comfirmation whether or not to kill a terrorist or follow the rules of engagement, blackwater just bags 'em and tags 'em and thats that. they are assigned to one job they finish it and dont care how they do it. some veiw them as a threat and reckless while others view them as a postive hand in the War on Terror.
The War in Iraq
i tried to pull up a video i dont know why it wont work but im going to say a few words anyways. we still have troops in Germany and Korea 50 years later. people wat to pull out of the Nation but the sad fact is the people there arent ready for us to leave. the driveby media will spin in ways that the people are ready but my neighbor i over there now and is fighting for those people and they adore the US they have freed them from the clutches of tyranny. this War is far from over and still has yet to move forward but we are getting there. so dont count our job done yet cause if we as a nation and the world leader of nations dont take a stand no one will.
Taxes= Punishment
ok so i hope the image loaded up ok. but i have a problem with the so called taxing of the rich. it is not the right of the Government to reach into the pockets of the wealthy and take money that they have earned to pay for someone elses insurance or well being. we are not a socialist nation we are a democracy we have the right to live freely. like Reagan said, "A government that governs best governs the least" it is our right as Americans to give to people in need not our obligation. it is also our right to not give if we so choose. the nation needs to back off of the rich and let them keep the money that they have worked so hard to earn i hope the picture has loaded but if not the top 5% of the rich in 2005 have or are paying 60% or more of total income taxes. they should not be punished for doing well in their lives and being motivated to better. it is just a screwed up system the rich should not have to pay for their insurance and part of someone elses. they call it "Tax breaks for the rich" i call it allowing people to spend their money how they choose not how the government chooses. my dad will be getting abonus in March but will only be receiving half of his total amount because he is being forced to pay taxes on things that do not even effect him, such as Social Security, Medicare, or Medicade. its ridiculous and needs to be dealt with.

Immigration
Personally the immigration issue is one that i have not looked theat far into. But I feel that the issue does need to be dealt with. I do not argue with the positive effects that immigration has on the nations economy, yet, I feel that illegal immigrants need to be dealt with. I have no problem with people entering the country the right way obtaining citizenship and living here. i do have a problem with people coming into the country and getting a job and the government doing nothing about it. Congress needs to set lower quotas and at the same time those illegals here need to be placed back where they came from and enter the country on the standards set in place today. the problem with the immigration issue is far more than just the economics of the matter, Columbus, Ohio is the second largest terrorist sleeping cell in the United States. this happened because the Clinton Administration allowed mass amounts of Somolians to enter the country just before he tucked his tale and ran before finishing the job. and where did all those people go? well if said Columbus you guessed right. this is the primary reason that this issue needs to be dealt with more harshly. there needs to be more strigent requirements for becoming a citizen. without control our country could fall apart from the inside and if allowing the wrong people to enter the country than we are allowing the wrong people to plan attacks such as 911 its time for a crackdown.

Immigration Nation
In Tamar Jacoby's article entitled "Immigration Nation" he makes a lot of good points and proves them with multiple facts from multiple sources. and i do agree with him in the fact that immigration does help the economy but i do not however agree with him in the fact that illegals already in the country should just be granted citizenship. call me old fashion but people have ben legally making their way into this country for years and helping the economy in that regard but illegals help in no way shape or form. so i say if you go through the proper qualifications Wlcome to America. but if not you dont belong here. may be insensitive but this country has come forward thus far with strict rules and i dont think we should back off now.
